1) What is .MM?
.MM is the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Myanmar.
2) Who can register for a .MM domain name and what are the special registration requirements / restrictions for .MM domain name?
WebNIC currently offer .COM.MM, .NET.MM, .BIZ.MM and .PER.MM. There are no restrictions on who can register .BIZ.MM and .PER.MM domain name. Any individual or organization from any country can register for .BIZ.MM and .PER.MM domain.
However, registrant for .COM.MM and .NET.MM must be organization with local presence in Myanmar. An individual is not entitle for .COM.MM and .NET.MM domain. The .COM.MM and .NET.MM domain must be using the default DNS provide by the registry. Intermittence name resolving issues may occur for user out of Myanmar, due to .MM root DNS server reachability from outside the country.
3) What is the length for .MM domain name?
Minimum of 3 / maximum of 63 characters allowed.
4) What is the term of registration?
The term of registration for .COM.MM and .NET.MM is 1 year only. While the term of registration for .BIZ.MM and .PER.MM is 1-10 year(s).
5) How do I perform a .MM domain registration?
Partners may register the domain name through Quickstart Wizard function. Partners may refer to “Doman Management” FAQ for more information.
The registration for .MM domain is offline process and is subject to the registry’s approval, and the verification process may take up to 2-3 weeks time.
6) Can I delete a .MM domain after registered?
Yes, you are allowed to delete the domain after registered, however registration fee is not refundable.
7) What is the term of renewal?
The term of renewal for .COM.MM and .NET.MM is 1 year only. .COM.MM and .NET.MM domain only can be renewed within 30 calendar days before the expiry date.
The term of renewal for .BIZ.MM and .PER.MM is 1-10 year(s).
8) What is the renewal grace period for .MM domain name and how do I perform a domain renewal?
There is no renewal grace period for .COM.MM and .NET.MM domain name. The domain name will directly fall into redemption grace period upon expired. A .COM.MM and .NET.MM domain only can be renewed a maximum of 30 calendar days before the expiry date.
Meanwhile, there is a 40 days renewal grace period for .BIZ.MM and .PER.MM domain.

9) Any Redemption Grace Period (RGP) for .MM domain name?
Yes, Redemption Grace Period for .MM domain name is a period of 30 days. Partner may refer to “Domain Restoration” FAQ for more information.
10) How long does it takes for a domain to release to public registration after expired and not renew?
After a .COM.MM or .NET.MM domain was expired, it will go through below life cycle:
No renewal grace period -> 30 days redemption grace period -> No pending delete.
Meanwhile, after a .BIZ.MM or .PER.MM domain was expired, it will go through below life cycle:
40 days renewal grace period ->30 days redemption grace period -> No pending delete.
If partner did not renew or restore the domain name, .COM.MM and .NET.MM domain will be released for public re-registration approximately 30 days from the domain expiration date, while for .BIZ.MM and .PER.MM domain will have 70 days. Please note that domain re-registration is based on first-come, first-serve basis.
11) Can I initiate a registrar transfer for .MM domain name and how do I initiate the transfer?
No, due to registrar transfer function for .MM has yet launch. We will notify partners once this function is ready. Partner may refer to “Registrar Transfer” FAQ for more information.
12) Can I initiate a reseller transfer for .MM domain name and how do I initiate the transfer?
Yes, partners are allowed to initiate reseller transfer for .MM domain name. Please note that domain will be extended for 1 year after completion. Partner may refer to “Reseller Transfer” FAQ for more information.
13) How do I manage my .MM domain name, for example, name protection, retrieve authorization information and etc.?
Partners may manage domain name through User Management function. Partner may refer to “Domain Management” FAQ for more information.
14) Does WebNIC provide Internationalized Domain Name (IDN) for .MM?
No, WebNIC does not provide IDN.mm domain name at this moment.
