New requirements for a .org.tw domain registration with effective from 2010-12-30, 00:00 (GMT+0800) further to policy amendment announced by Registry:
- Applicable for corporation, juridical association or non-profit organization registered according to the laws within Taiwan, Tax ID is requires to be submitted during the application.
- Applicant from foreign non-profit organization need to go through manual process and below supporting documents is requires:
- Documentary proof/certificate of establishment according to the laws of their country; and
- Reason and usage of the domain application, in formal letter form with registrant’s company’s letterhead, sign and seal. Download the sample letter here.
- Verification will be performed by registry and subject to availability of the domain name after approval from Registry.
- Registry will perform random auditing on the domain registration, application which do not fulfill registration requirements will subject to suspend and/or deletion perform by Registry without further notice and without refund.

Yes, partners are allowed to delete a .tw domain name after registered, registration fee is refundable within 3 days grace period.
7) What is the term of renewal?
The term of renewal is 1-10 years.
8) What is the renewal grace period for .tw domain name and how do I perform a domain renewal?
Renewal grace period for .tw domain name is 30 days, partners may renew the domain name through Quick Start Registration function. Partner may refer to “Domain Renewal” FAQ for more information.
If partners did not renew the domain name before its expiry date, it will be suspended after expired and fallen into 30 days of renewal grace period. After approximately 33 days from expiry date, domain will be straightly deleted and release for public re-registration.
9) Any Redemption Grace Period (RGP) for .tw domain name?
No, there is no RGP for .tw domain name. Partner may refer to “Domain Restoration” FAQ for more information.
10) How long does it takes for a domain to release to public registration after expired and not renew?
After a .tw domain was expired, it will go through below life cycle:-
30 days renewal grace period(suspend) -- > No Redemption grace period --> 3 days pending delete
If partners did not renew the domain name before its expiry date, it will be suspended and fallen into 30 days of renewal grace period. Domain will be straightly deleted approximately 33 days from the expiry date if there has no renewal been performed and it will be released for public re-registration.
11) Can I initiate a registrar transfer for .tw domain name and how do I initiate the transfer?
Yes, partners are allowed to initiate registrar transfer for .tw domain name. Please note that domain will be extended for 1 year after completion.
Registrar transfers in for .tw domain name registered under non-Domestic-based registrars will be allowed to perform through Partner Central.
Registrar transfer in for .tw domain names registered through Domestic-based registrars will be conducting in manual process as define below：
- Domain name must be out of 90 days from the expiry date in order to perform a manual registrar transfer. If domain name within 90 days from the expiry date, please contact domain current registrar for transfer approval and any necessary document requires.
- Registrar transfer authorization letter is requires from domain registrant in company letterhead and authorized signature. You may download the Sample Registrar Transfer Authorization Letter here.
- After ready of the authorization letter, please submit a transfer request through your Partner Central and notify us accordingly at support@webnic.cc along with the complete authorization letter.
- An registrar authorization email will be sent to domain administrative contact manually for approval.
- We will proceed the transfer request accordingly when we receive both authorization in email and letter form.
- The registrar transfer will take 2 - 10 business days to complete. Our system will notify you once the Registrar transfer process is successful/rejected.

12) Can I initiate a reseller transfer for .tw domain name and how do I initiate the transfer?
Yes, partners are allowed to initiate reseller transfer for .tw domain name. Please note that domain will be extended for 1 year after completion. Partner may refer to “Reseller Transfer” FAQ for more information.
13) How do I manage my .tw domain name for example, name protection, retrieve authorization information and etc.?
