in .TRAVEL registration Effective December 21,
2007 all place names will be available for registration by eligible applicants.
Furthermore,
it will no longer be necessary for customers to receive approvals for names selected
for purchase. Registrants will not be required to submit names they intend to
register prior to registration. This policy change does not affect basic or entity
eligibility. It will still be necessary for registrants to be authenticated through
an Authentication Provider or IAS (the successor to TRAP) as travel industry participants
within one of the 20 designated sectors. .TRAVEL
registry also implemented a use policy. Effective December 21, 2007, each domain
name must, within 60 days following the date of registration, and thereafter throughout
the term of the domain name, be used as the domain name for a website displaying
travel content relevant to the domain name, or in such other manner (such as email)
that the Registry may approve after review. Failure to comply will result in a
notice providing 30-days for compliance to be achieved. Non-compliance following
such notice may result in revocation of the relevant domain name, at the discretion
of the Registry. Please note that any domain name revoked by the registry will
not be entitled to any refunds of any remaining period of the registration or
renewal fees.
